Promoting Better Education in Tanzania – To advocate for and implement initiatives that enhance the quality, accessibility, and inclusivity of education across Tanzania.

Fostering Global Engagement and Knowledge Exchange – To facilitate international volunteer programs, partnerships, and collaborations that bring diverse expertise and perspectives to enhance local educational initiatives.

Addressing Climate Justice and Sustainability – To engage young people in climate education, environmental awareness, and sustainability initiatives to build resilience against climate change.

Advising and Collaborating with the Government – To provide policy recommendations and strategic insights to the government on improving the education sector in Tanzania

Enhancing Educational Opportunities – To improve access to quality education by providing career guidance, mentorship, and resources that empower students and youth.

Empowering Youth for Future Building – To equip both girls and boys with confidence, self-esteem, decision-making skills, and a strong belief in themselves to shape their future.

Advocating for Gender Equality and Inclusive Education – To promote gender-responsive education and create safe, inclusive learning environments for all students, including marginalized and vulnerable groups.

Improving Community Well-being – To support underprivileged communities with essential services such as water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH), and educational infrastructure to foster a conducive learning environment.

Supporting Mental Health and Well-being – To raise awareness and provide support on mental health issues among students and youth through outreach programs, advocacy, and capacity-building initiatives

Our Key Goals

Goal 01: Leadership Development

IBET is committed to fostering inclusive and equitable access to quality education while promoting holistic social development. This goal focuses on empowering both boys and girls with essential 21st-century skills, including financial literacy, and positive social behavior change to prepare them for leadership roles in their communities.

  • Strategic Approaches:
    Equity in Education: Ensuring that both boys and girls have equal opportunities to access and complete quality education, alongside engagement in civic spaces, human rights advocacy, and personal development.
  • Skill Development: Equipping youth with critical leadership, financial literacy, and essential life skills to enhance their resilience and self-reliance.
  • Advocacy & Policy Influence: Engaging in advocacy efforts to reduce school dropout rates, prevent exam absenteeism, and promote timely school enrollment for both boys and girls.
  • Behavioral Change & Social Inclusion: Promoting positive behavioral change to support students in overcoming social and economic challenges that hinder their education.

Through this goal, IBET aims to nurture a generation of young leaders who are well-equipped to drive sustainable development and contribute meaningfully to society.

Goal 02: Gender Inclusivity

Through this goal, IBET aims to create a more inclusive and equitable society where young people—regardless of gender—have the skills, confidence, and opportunities to thrive and contribute meaningfully to social and economic development.
This goal emphasizes learning by doing, ensuring young people both boys and girls, especially students, gain practical experience and leadership skills through volunteering, mentorship, and international exchange programs. to enhance hands-on learning for students in schools and universities, providing them with readiness-to-work opportunities and exposure to various career paths without biases.
Youth Advocacy & Decision-Making: Empowering young people to have a voice in policy discussions, particularly in education reform and gender inclusivity, ensuring they actively participate in decision-making processes on matters affecting them.The goal will focus on empowering and inspiring both girls and boys with the 21st essential skills, financial literacy and social behavioral change.

The goal will also focus to advocacy, contribute and help decreases proportional of dropping out from school, escaping final examinations and increase number of enrollment in appropriate age for both girls and boys.

Goal 03: Climate Justice

IBET is committed to ensuring youth engagement in environmental and climate action by fostering awareness, education, and active participation from an early age. Climate change is a pressing global challenge that requires a comprehensive and inclusive approach, and empowering young people to take action is essential for long-term sustainability.

Strategic Approaches:

  • Early Engagement in Climate Action: Encouraging young people, particularly students, to actively participate in environmental conservation, climate education, and sustainability initiatives within their schools and communities.
  • Youth Empowerment & Leadership: Equipping young people with knowledge, skills, and resources to become climate advocates and change-makers in their communities.
  • Collaborative Partnerships: Strengthening engagement with communities, stakeholders, and international partners to drive sustainable climate solutions and integrate environmental education into school curriculums.
  • Awareness & Capacity Building: Implementing programs that increase climate awareness, promote green initiatives, and inspire innovative solutions among youth.

At IBET, we believe that inspiration, empowerment, education, and collaboration are key to unlocking Tanzania’s youth potential. By integrating climate justice into education, we strive to build a generation that is environmentally conscious, proactive, and equipped to shape a more sustainable future.

Goal 04: School Water Sanitation and Hygiene (SWASH)

IBET will focus to support and promote public primary schools with an improved SWASH facility in order to reach national standards which are technically recommended including;

  • improved latrines (toilet)
  • Water facilities and
  • Sanitation & Hygiene

Public primary schools in rural areas are the most vulnerable groups that lagging behind from SWASH standards and this leads to inconvenience and harmful learning environment to pupils and stuffs, such as open defecation hence causes communicable diseases and eventually endanger pupil’s stuffs health and studies. SWASH is crucial area to put an effort in order to ensure safe learning environment.

Goal 05: Access to Safe and Self Reliance Education

IBET has developed an understanding of the most challenges of education sector at large. This goal is mainly focused to transform education and the system to the new labor market demands. Thus to improve the quality of education in term of impactful rather than completion theoretically basis as it is now, and bridge the gap of various challenge like skills imbalances, skills shortages and skills mismatch.

  •  To ensure young people in schools, colleges and community with access to quality information empowerment, especially in career goals development. To implement programs for career guidance and counseling on the demand and requirement of the future of work

  •  To support young people, acquire an essential skills and utilize to identify, be innovative & creative and so capitalize on work opportunities for the future.

  •   To establish technology digital hub (through supporting resources) which will nature talents, innovation, and technology exposure at large from the young age of youths. The hub will be impactful providing various training including computer application and further tech skills, identify tech opportunities and financial literacy.
